Our sister in the music and the love of my life has passed away. Maria Miller-Watkins, a.k.a. Carmen ‘Big Sexy’ Miller, left us January 25, 2023 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

She left enough ‘For The Ladies’ playlists to last for many years so WFA Radio will continue to air her segment, Carmen’s For The Ladies, every Sunday from 10:00 pm to 12:00 pm.

I will occasionally add more ‘ladies’ tracks that I personally know she loved. She was a part of WFA Radio from day one, and we will never be the same without her!

We are also keeping the station drops she recorded in our daily rotation because we like hearing her voice. If you miss her like we do, listen to her time slot now and then and raise one for my baby girl, who was taken from us many years ahead of plan. She was my wife, my life and my only love.

JazzUSA went dark at the end of 2017, and at the time everyone thought it was permanent. But, because JazzUSA had been up and active for over 21 years, it only took a couple of months for Jazz lovers and artists to convince them that there was some obligation to try and keep all that material online and available to the jazz public.

"This is jazz history!" they said, "You can keep this information alive for almost free, so why not?" they said. So JazzUSA was resurrected as an ARCHIVE. There are no new materials being posted (right now...), but the 21+ years of great reviews and interviews are still available in the JazzUSA archive.
